Lana Sayah is a singer-songwriter from unwrapping her fresh palette of future soul and alternative R&B. Her vocals move gracefully between blissful moments of stillness to soaring, soulful highs.
Lana grew up swimming in the music of neo-soul pioneers like Jill Scott and Erykah Badu as well as immersing herself in the heartache of jazz greats such as Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. It was her introduction to music by Amy Winehouse and more contemporary artists like Banks and Nao that inspired her to turn her hidden addiction for songwriting into an outward projection of her truth.
Lana Rita graduated with a BMus from the Australian Institute of Music in 2012. Since then, she has worked as a backing vocalist for many national and international acts including Dua Lipa, Kylie Minogue, The Madden Brothers, Taylor Henderson, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Lunch Money Lewis, Jess Mauboy, Samantha Jade, Thirsty Merc, Karise Eden and as part of The Voice AU 2014 house backing band.
She has also collaborated as a songwriter with the likes of Joel Quartermaine (Eskimo Joe), Tim Curnick (Ngaiire) Leigh Ryan (Hilltop Hoods), Wayne Connolly (Silverchair, Sarah Blasko, Boy and Bear), Martin Craft (Empire of the Sun), Jean-Paul Fung, Nadav Khan and Adrian Deutsch amongst others.
