Mardi Gras at Opera Bar

This Mardi Gras, Opera Bar transforms into a celebration of music, dance and queer expression. Created in collaboration with Arts-Matter and Archie Rose, the official gin partner of Mardi Gras 2026. Expect sunset DJ sets, strike a pose with House Of Silky’s Ballroom By The Bridge honouring Harlem’s ballroom tradition, and a Drag Wheel of Fortune with prizes to win.

Join us as we bring the rainbow to Sydney’s harbourfront from 13 February to 1 March.

Lunar New Year at Opera Bar

Lunar New Year marks the beginning of the new year on the lunar calendar, celebrated across many Asian cultures. It’s a time for family reunions, honouring traditions, and welcoming fresh beginnings with hope and good fortune.

Our chefs have put together a special seafood menu from Monday 16 February to Tuesday 3 March. We invite you to join us for the celebrations and wish you a prosperous new year.

We offer live music 7 days a week, featuring incredible Australian artists, DJs and musicians. Our programme has been created in collaboration with Arts-Matter, a platform that hosts intimate events in contemporary Sydney spaces, combining music, fashion, film and theatre with community at its heart.
